NERVOUS TISSUE 🧠
The controlling system, capable of governing the functions of our body, it sends signals for our body to respond. It is one of four major classes of tissues and makes up the central nervous system and the peripheral nervous system composed of brain, spinal cord, and nerves. The two major functions of nervous tissue are Integration and communication.

Histology is the study of the tissues of the body and how these tissues are arranged to constitute organs. This subject involves all aspects of tissue biology, with the focus on how cells’ structure and arrangement optimize functions specific to each organ.

“𝑶𝒏𝒆 𝒎𝒖𝒔𝒕 𝒖𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒏𝒐𝒓𝒎𝒂𝒍 𝒕𝒐 𝒃𝒆 𝒂𝒃𝒍𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒓𝒆𝒄𝒐𝒈𝒏𝒊𝒛𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒂𝒃𝒏𝒐𝒓𝒎𝒂𝒍”. Histology helps us understand the relationship between structure and function. It sheds light on the importance of the histological perspective in the study of body functions and the diagnosis of certain diseases. It helps students understand the arrangement of cells and tissues in a normal organ system. Moreover, it correlates the structure to function by correlating the differentiation of tissue structure to their specific function. This knowledge that students gain through histology will provide a better cellular understanding and basis of other important topics like anatomy and physiology. When you understand what happens at a cellular level, you are better at understanding the big picture of how the human body is built and works. Most importantly, as previously stated, one must understand the normal to comprehend the abnormal. Thus, this makes Histology a fundamental aspect of pathology.

In the seamless narrative of Romans chapters 4, 5, and 6, faith, justification, and grace beautifully converge. Chapter 4 unveils the significance of faith through the example of Abraham in verse 20, who, unwavering in his trust, sets the stage for the narrative “𝑵𝒐 𝒖𝒏𝒃𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒆𝒇 𝒎𝒂𝒅𝒆 𝒉𝒊𝒎 𝒘𝒂𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒄𝒆𝒓𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒎𝒊𝒔𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝑮𝒐𝒅, 𝒃𝒖𝒕 𝒉𝒆 𝒈𝒓𝒆𝒘 𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒐𝒏𝒈 𝒊𝒏 𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒇𝒂𝒊𝒕𝒉.” This chapter highlights how faith, rather than works, justifies believers and solidifies their connection to God. It emphasizes that faith is the bedrock of a righteous relationship with the divine, echoing throughout the Christian journey.
Moving forward, chapter 5 deepens this connection by emphasizing in verse 1 that we find justification and peace with God through faith in Jesus Christ. It underscores that our faith in Jesus Christ leads to our justification and, as a result, ushers in a state of peace with God. This verse profoundly illustrates how faith, rather than any other means, is the catalyst for our reconciliation with the divine through our Lord Jesus Christ. It reaffirms that faith is the bridge that connects us to the transformative act of being justified, granting us the peace that transcends human understanding.
Lastly, Romans chapter 6, exemplified by verse 14, “𝑭𝒐𝒓 𝒔𝒊𝒏 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒏𝒐 𝒅𝒐𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒚𝒐𝒖, 𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒖𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒓 𝒍𝒂𝒘 𝒃𝒖𝒕 𝒖𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒓 𝒈𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒆”, underscores the liberating power of God’s grace. It emphasizes that through faith in Christ, we are no longer enslaved by sin. This chapter challenges us to live as instruments of righteousness, embracing the transformative potential of God’s grace to lead lives free from the dominion of sin. It’s a reminder that grace is not a license for sin but a pathway to a holier, more abundant life. In these chapters, we find the triumphant conclusion of a Christian journey—a journey rooted in faith, solidified through justification, and ultimately transformed by the abundant grace of God.

When asked about what sets us apart from students in other universities, one might mention our unique way of speaking, our distinct behaviors, or even our fashion choices. However, for me, being a Sillimanian goes beyond what meets the eye. A Sillimanian embodies the Via, Veritas, Vita. It is within this motto that we build a community centered around Christ, living in peace and harmony, nurturing it within our campus. Moreover, aside from blooming in academic excellence, Sillimanians are cultivated in various facets of intelligence, ensuring holistic growth that enables us to connect with others throughout our journey. While our manner of speaking and behaving may vary from what others perceive or describe, what truly distinguishes us is the combination of a brilliant mind and a compassionate heart, setting us apart with a unique art.

The mental aspect of man is a profoundly complicated and fascinating aspect of his existence. From my perspective, the human mind is like a treasure chest full of potential and complexity. It is the seat of our thoughts, emotions, creativity, and intellect, shaping our perceptions and actions in profound ways. The mental aspect of man encompasses a vast spectrum of experiences, from moments of profound clarity and insight to periods of confusion and doubt. It is a dynamic force that drives our curiosity, fuels our imagination, and empowers us to adapt and thrive in a constantly changing world.
Moreover, I believe that nurturing and prioritizing mental well-being is of paramount importance. In an era marked by increasing stressors and demands, taking care of our mental health is an essential component of leading a fulfilling life. It is also essential to occasionally reach out to your friends and family, providing mutual support and comfort for one another. Recognizing the importance of our mental well-being, we can cultivate empathy, understanding, and support for one another’s journey in life, embracing the complexity and richness of our mental selves can lead to a more compassionate and enlightened society.

(𝑪𝒉𝒂𝒑𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒔 𝟏, 𝟐 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝟑)Romans chapters 1, 2, and 3 present a compelling narrative on human nature, morality, and salvation, drawing from Romans 3:23, which states, “𝑭𝒐𝒓 𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒏𝒆𝒅 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒇𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝒔𝒉𝒐𝒓𝒕 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒈𝒍𝒐𝒓𝒚 𝒐𝒇 𝑮𝒐𝒅.” In Chapter 1, we witness the devastating consequences of turning away from God’s truth, a stark reminder of the moral decline that comes from making such choices. Chapter 2 emphasizes that no one can claim to be morally superior, as it highlights impartial divine judgment rooted in truth.
However, amidst the sobering realities of our fallen nature, Romans 3 brings hope with Romans 3:22 proclaiming, “𝑻𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒓𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕𝒆𝒐𝒖𝒔𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒔 𝒊𝒔 𝒈𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒈𝒉 𝒇𝒂𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒊𝒏 𝑱𝒆𝒔𝒖𝒔 𝑪𝒉𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒕 𝒕𝒐 𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝒘𝒉𝒐 𝒃𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒆𝒗𝒆.” It underlines the universal need for redemption and the accessibility of righteousness through faith in Christ, transcending all backgrounds and past sins. As I’ve journeyed through these chapters, they have served as an important reminder of the transformative and redemptive force that faith embodies. It’s a testament to God’s boundless capacity for forgiveness, showcasing that despite the depths of our transgressions, there always exists an open door leading us back to the loving embrace of our Creator.
