Carlos P. Garcia is the 8th president of the Philippines. He is from Bohol and studied at Silliman University. One of his works during his presidency is “Pilipino Muna” or Filipino First Policy. This policy is about prioritizing Filipino over other nationalities, it favored the Filipino businessman. This is a great policy, as a Filipino it is our right to have more benefits in our country, and the policy is not all about business, it also about patronizing what the Filipino has made, Filipino culture, dress, food and other things. Filipino First Policy mean loving the Filipino culture and identity and embracing our own uniqueness.

Among the SDG, the goal that I would promote is goal 6 clean and water sanitation. If we are all not aware, there are still a lot of countries where people does not have a clean water to drink. The people drinks from dirty water because they does not have a choice and they either get sick or die. The people also does not have basic sanitation because of poverty. Cholera and typhoid are example of diseases that is caused by lack of clean water and basic sanitation. Because of these the one that I really like to promote is Goal 6 and I believe that helping those people would really change their life with a less illness and death occurrence.

When I was a first year in Silliman, I did not know how important it is to enroll yourself early in NSTP so you can choose on what type of training you have for the whole year. It was already late when I learned that all of the slots in NSTP are full except ROTC, so I don’t have a choice. ROTC is tough, I can’t count how many times I pushed myself every Saturday and how many times I been sick during those days. But still, I can say that the days while being a cadet is one of the most memorable experience. I pick this video because it reminds me that Silliman will bring you experience that you will never imagine, it will make you cry, happy and at the same time it will teach you a lot of things, and the school does not only give us classroom knowledge, they also give community and life experience . And as my platoon members says, Go Delta Gwapa!
