Arteriosclerosis is a disease affecting the walls of the arteries due to aging, it is the result of high cholesterol diets and poor exercise, whereas atherosclerosis is a disorder affecting the lumen of the arteries due to plaque buildup and a genetic trait, that cannot be changed.

The topic of the article is the histology of the skin and hair follicle. The skin is made up of three layers: the outer epidermis, the dermis, and the hypodermis. Nerves, blood arteries, glands, and hair follicles are all part of it. The epidermis is a stratified squamous epithelium that is constantly regenerating. It is made up of keratinocytes (80%) and dendritic cells (20%), which include melanocytes, Langerhans cells, and Merkel cells. Keratinocytes are grouped in layers that indicate distinct phases of development in standard histology, whereas melanocytes and Langerhans cells show as clear cells between the basal and supra-basal cells of the epidermis. The Merkel cells are difficult to identify. Immunocytochemistry is the sole way to identify dendritic processes in dendritic cells.
