[3] Primary Health Care
-
Primary health care refers to caring for people rather than just treating specific diseases. It is caring for the community and the health of the nation. The goal of primary care is to connect with patients and provide holistic care. Primary health care increases one’s trust from the healthcare workers that are treating you and makes one’s treatments at the hospital less scary. It includes a person’s physical, mental, and social well-being. It functions on values and engages social solidarity as we recognize our rights to a proper healthcare treatment.

Insights on what you have learned from MT14
MT14 has enabled me to further understand how a clinical laboratory works and that it is not just all about the tests and procedures that are done as it also comes with a lot of other things to be mindful of such as the laboratory workers, the inventory, and the procedure manuals of the different tests. Studying the Health Information System is indeed beneficial and important as I go on in my medical technology journey as I have gained knowledge on how the laboratories (both primary and secondary) work based on the interviews that were done. It has indeed equiped all of us with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate the complex world of healthcare information management. It empowers everyone to contribute to the improvement of healthcare delivery, decision-making, and patient outcomes.
“And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Matthew 28:20
What is the importance of material management in the laboratory and in your life?
Material management is critical in the laboratory because it makes sure that the right equipment, instruments, and supplies are available for experiments and analyses, reducing waste, optimizing resources, and ensuring safety. It also aids in the preservation of materials, the prevention of contamination, and the efficient conduct of experiments. Efficient material management can help reduce costs by minimizing inventory holding costs, preventing over-ordering and wastage of materials, and optimizing procurement and transportation costs.
Material management is also important in my life because it allows me to be more organized and efficient in managing resources. We can save time and money, reduce waste, and simplify our lives by effectively managing them. Properly managing household materials such as groceries, clothing, and cleaning supplies can assist us in avoiding overbuying, optimizing resource use, and creating a comfortable living environment. Effective material management can help each one of us live a more efficient and organized life in the long run.
What is System Analysis and Design?
System analysis and design (SAD) is the process of creating information systems that are tailored to the specific needs of an organization or business. It involves several stages, including gathering requirements, analyzing the organization’s needs, designing the system, implementing it, testing it, deploying it, and maintaining it. The main objective of SAD is to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the organization by developing a system that meets its specific needs. SAD is a complex process that requires careful planning, analysis, and development to create a functional system that is up-to-date with the latest technologies and meets the organization’s changing requirements over time.
