The process of identifying, evaluating, and controlling risks as well as maintaining laboratory environmental health and safety. It is everyone\'s obligation to reduce dangers posed by routine activity by employing safety precautions and examining the reagents\' purity.

Chemical Hazards: Possible contact with chemical risks can arise during use as well as through improper storage. If chemicals are handled improperly or misused, there could be serious consequences. Chemicals can include reagents, disinfectants, and drugs.

Physical Hazards: Electrical, mechanical, and other physical risks are frequently overlooked. Apparent physical risks are slips and fall when working. Other physical risks could include lifting, pushing, and pulling. Ignoring these could have serious consequences.

Electrical Hazards: Surrounded by machinery, electrical hazards can include electric shock, arc blasts, fires, and even explosions. Faulty equipment is also a major risk as it leads to an unsafe work environment. It\'s important to be cautious when working with this equipment.

Biological Hazards: These can include infectious substances and their toxins. We must remember to treat every specimen as contagious. When using biological materials, they shouldn\'t be kept in refrigerators, freezers, or hallways that aren\'t locked. Place biohazard warning signs in the proper locations.

Eiren Hope G. Beira posted an update Histopathology laboratory can be considered very hazardous because of the presence of chemicals, equipment, fire, etc. Hence, the hazards that are generally present in a histopathology laboratory are chemical, physical, electrical, and biological hazards.

- Chemical hazards occur during improper use and poor storage. The usual chemical in the histopathology laboratory is Formalin which can is considered a human carcinogen, allergen, and irritant.

- As for physical hazards, these occur when sharps and needles, machines, and poor housekeeping are present.

- Electrical hazards are due to faulty electrical equipment, damaged connectors, and improper use of flexible extension cords.

- Biological hazards include aerosols, prions, and blood. One way to counteract these hazards is through proper use of protective gear; a full mask on when using the centrifuge with fluids.

Jhoana Mae Eder posted an update In the book by Bruce-Gregorios, there are 3 main categories of hazards that have been identified. These hazards involve a probability of the risk or danger to be happened inside the histo-tech laboratory. These are: chemical, physical, or biological hazard.

For Chemical hazards:
-	Both during usage and with improper storage, there is a risk of exposure to chemical hazards such as cleaners and disinfectants, medications, anesthetic gases, solvents, paints, and compressed gases. If chemicals are handled improperly or misused, there could be serious consequences.

For Physical hazards:
-	Slips, trips, and falls from working in damp conditions, as well as ergonomic risks from lifting, pushing, pulling, and repetitive jobs, pose the most visible physical risks. Electrical, mechanical, acoustic, or thermal dangers are additional physical risks that go unrecognized frequently. Neglecting these could have detrimental effects.

Under the Physical hazard where Electrical hazards can be found:
-	Workers may encounter electrical dangers in the lab, such as electric shock, electrocution, arc blasts, fires, and explosions. Electrical instruments, wiring, receptacles, and connector damage are some of the potential sources of electrical hazard exposures, as are unsafe work procedures.

Lastly, Biological hazards:
-	Medical technologists frequently confront biological dangers in laboratories as a result of specimens like blood that are to be evaluated.

To add, I have found an online video regarding safety in the laboratory. With this simple video, we can be aware and prevent ourselves from laboratory accidents.

Erika Marie Columnas posted an update The risks associated with working in a histopathology laboratory include the following:
1.	Chemical Hazards
-	Working in a laboratory involves handling different kinds of chemicals to use as reagents, disinfectants, solvents, etc.
2.	Physical Hazards
-	These are hazards that occur mostly because of human error or mishaps. Such as slipping or falling from work locations. Ergonomic hazards are also often encountered in the laboratory because of the extensive hours that a laboratorian spends doing repetitive tasks.
3.	Electrical Hazards
-	Since the laboratory is composed of many different types of machines to perform different kinds of tests and experiments, electrical hazards are not foreign. These can be electric shocks, arc blasts, and electrocution that may stem from faulty wiring and the likes.
4.	Biological Hazards
-	The specimens that we handle in the laboratory are what we refer to as biohazards.
