    “Your safety lies in you”
With careful analysis, I realized that every move you’ll make has consequences that await. Risk is everywhere and it’s our responsibility as workers to maintain safety in the laboratory, promote risk management, and minimize risks. So as a healthcare worker in a workplace, identifying the hazards is essential to protecting and promoting health and safety. These hazards fall into three main categories, namely chemical, physical or biological.

Chemical Hazards pertain to cleaning agents, disinfectants, drugs, anesthetic gases, paints, and compressed gases. These pose potential harm due to misused and mishandled chemicals in the laboratory. So proper labeling and storage of hazardous chemicals must be the priority.

Physical Hazards are the most obvious ones. Slips and falls, and the ergonomic hazards of lifting, pushing, pulling, and repetitive tasks are some I can name of. Electrical, mechanical, acoustic, or thermal in nature also falls in this category. If these are ignored, they may cause serious consequences. When you feel pain, this is a good indication that something is wrong. Working must be done in a neutral and balanced posture.

The Biological Hazards on the other hand defines as anything that causes disease in humans. These include infectious agents and their toxins, contaminated solutions, specimens, or objects. Biohazards signs must be well-put for precautionary.

In addition, I would like to give additional information using the short video I found online. https://youtu.be/0QwJB1sH3Oc
