Interview Questions and answers for MT 14: Health Information System1. What system do you use for health information?
-Carestream. Carestream Health is the health imaging and information technology solutions company the institution has partnered with to provide for their Radiology Information System (RIS).2. Is this system also used by other healthcare providers in the city?
-This is used by SUMC’s HIM(Health Information Managent) Department.3. If it is, is it a centralized information system? Are other hospitals able to access your health information systems or is it strictly for your own institution?
-Currently, we limit it to the hospital and selected doctors only. Concerning the usage of outside providers, we discourage it for we follow data privacy. Also to prevent these data from being hacked. Hacked patients’ information is a difficult situation to face.4. Aside from the selected doctors, is the access only limited to the radiology department? Who other personnel or what other departments can access your information from the information system?
– Different stations have access to this information such as the ER, the medical ward, surgery department, pedia, and the Intensive Care Unit.5. Can your information system be accessed by the patients?
-No. Patients cannot gain access (e.g. log in, manipulate, and view all data) to the information from the system.6. What are the advantages of using this system in comparison to the time it wasn’t incorporated to the hospital system?

A good interview. I was wondering whether parts of the video should play or not since I can only hear the audio in some parts of the video. It was good that you wrote down your interview to clarify some parts of your video.
