Epithelial tissues are made up of aggregated polyhedral cells that cover, line, and protect the body’s surface. There are many kinds of epithelial tissues found throughout our bodies. Below are three microscopic images of simple ciliated epithelium, pseudostratified ciliated epithelium, and stratified transitional epithelium that I illustrated using watercolor.
