Histology Art (MT 30 – I) 3 years, 9 months ago This photo is a representation and an illustration of muscle tissues. The muscle tissue is composed of cells with the special ability to shorten or contract to create locomotion of the body parts. It is the tissue with highly cellular and most supplied with blood vessels. It can be categorized into skeletal, smooth, and cardiac muscle tissue.Reference: https://training.seer.cancer.gov/anatomy/cells_tissues_membranes/tissues/muscle.html

On the left is the cardiac muscle tissue. Cardiac muscle has branching fibers, one nucleus per cell, striations, and intercalated disks. Its contraction is not under voluntary control. -
The drawing on the center is the skeletal muscle tissue. Skeletal muscle fibers are cylindrical, multinucleated, striated, and under voluntary control. -
The one on the right is the smooth muscle tissue. Smooth muscle cells are spindle shaped, have a single, centrally located nucleus, and lack striations. They are called involuntary muscles.
