They can then be taken into the bloodstream and used for energy, growth, and repair by the body. This is my histology art for digestive system tissues that shows the microscopic view of the human appendix, large intestine, and ileum.
The following are the roles of each component of the digestive system:1. Human Appendix – The appendix is normally found in the lower right abdomen. The appendix’s purpose is uncertain. One notion is that the appendix works as a “rebooter” for the digestive tract following diarrheal disorders by storing beneficial bacteria. Others say the appendix is nothing more than a relic from our evolutionary history.
2. Human Large Intestine – The colon, rectum, and anus are all parts of the large intestine. As food nears the finish of its journey through your digestive system, it’s all one long tube that continues from the small intestine. When you poop, the big intestine converts food waste into stool and excretes it from the body.
3. Human Ileum – The ileum is the small intestine’s last section. It attaches to the cecum (first part of the large intestine). The ileum aids in the digestion of food that has passed through the stomach and other portions of the small intestine.
