MT 30 LAB – H 3 years, 11 months ago The digestive system is made up of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract and the liver, pancreas, and gallbladder. The GI tract is a collection of hollow organs that are connected to one another from the mouth to the anus. The organs that make up the GI tract, in order of connection, are the mouth, esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine, and anus. The digestive system is designed specifically to convert food into the nutrients and energy needed for a person to survive. When that’s done, it handily packages the body’s solid waste, or stool, for disposal when a person has a bowel movement.
