Digestive System is made up of organs that help the body break down food and absorb nutrients. It is a long, twisting tube that starts from the mouth and goes through the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine, and anus. The digestive system breaks down food into nutrients such as carbohydrates, fat, and proteins. They can then be absorbed into the bloodstream, and the body can utilize them for energy, growth, and repair.

Below are illustrations that was drawn by the hand of three of the many microscopic images of digestive system body tissues. Their description and function are as follows:
    • 𝓢𝓽𝓸𝓶𝓪𝓬𝓱. The stomach is a muscular organ that digests food. It contracts and produces acids and enzymes that break down food when it receives food. When foods are broken down, it is passed into the small intestine.
    • 𝓔𝓼𝓸𝓹𝓱𝓪𝓰𝓾𝓼. The esophagus is a muscular tube that carries food from the mouth to the stomach after being swallowed. At the end of the esophagus is a ring of muscle that relaxes to let food in and contracts to prevent stomach contents from escaping back into the esophagus.
    • 𝓘𝓵𝓮𝓾𝓶. The ileum is a part of the small intestine. It is the longest and last section of the small intestine. It is where food spends most of its time and where most water and nutrients are absorbed.
