It is a group of organs and tissues that aid in your breathing, helps your body to absorb oxygen for your organs to work and function, and clean out waste gases from your blood like carbon dioxide. However, it is not only limited there. Your respiratory system has a lot of functions besides helping you breathe. It also allows you to smell and talk, protects your airways from foreign substances and irritants, and warms the air to match your body’s temperature.
Not only that, but your respiratory system is a collective effort from its many different parts that help you breathe. Each element has its function and significance that eventually works together for you, your breathing, and everything that goes along with it.
