Hey guys! Please take some time to read this research article on the Histological Ontology of the Circulatory System!

I found that in histology, there are different terms that designate the same concept, and a same term has more than one separate meaning. The researchers presented that histology had two main challenges which are to communicate specifically, clearly, and precisely histology concepts and to represent or model knowledge from histology data sources to interact and process it automatically. As such we can learn Histology, especially that of the Circulatory System, through a science known as Histological Ontology.

    • The purpose of a Historical Ontology is to make it easier for educators to teach Histology of tissues to students in a manner that is orderly and hierarchical. Histology after all focuses on structure and functionality of tissues and its connection with other organs of the body. It is very interesting to see that Histology and its terminologies are complex and may cause confusion if one such term has multiple meanings or multiple terms mean the same concept. Observing the Histological Ontology of the circulatory system produced by the researchers makes it easier for us to see the different terms associated with the different levels of organization without any confusion or complexity. The chart on Histological Ontology essentially allows us to see the cardiovascular system and the different tissues that comprise it and how the different tissues also are associated or a part of other systems.
