The kidney, ureter, urinary bladder, and urethra make up the urinary system. Urine is produced by the kidneys and contains extra water, electrolytes, and waste products. The urine subsequently passes via the ureter and into the bladder, where it is temporarily stored. The urethra is then used to empty the bladder.
