    GIANT MULTIPOLAR NEURON
Three or more processes are associated with the cell bodies of multipolar neurons. The axon transports electrical impulses (action potentials) between cells. The remaining processes are dendrites. The cell body and dendrites comprise the receptive zone of multipolar neurons. The multipolar neuron is the most common kind of neuron. They can be found in the autonomic nervous system and the central nervous system (brain and spinal cord).
    • Multipolar neurons have dendrites that allow them to take impulses from many neurons. Dendrites communicate across the neuron via an electrical signal that travels down the axon. Motor neurons are the most common type of nerve cell body plan: they are multipolar, with one axon and several dendrites.
