Multipolar neurons have three or more processes. The axon sends electrochemical impulses between cells. Dendrites are left. Multipolar neuron receptive zone is cell body and dendrites. Multipolar neurons are common. Autonomic ganglia and the CNS have them (brain and spinal cord). Multipolar neurons’ dendrites allow them to receive impulses from multiple neurons. An electrical signal from dendrites to axons sends messages across the neuron. Motor neurons are multipolar, with one axon and multiple dendrites.
