  • The uterus is a hollow organ that houses the developing fetus. This is a cross-section of a uterus’s body. There are three layers to the uterine wall. The endometrium is the uterine lining’s inner layer. It is composed of glandular cells that secrete. The myometrium is the uterus’s main and thickest layer. Smooth muscle makes up the majority of it. The perimetrium is the uterus’ outer serous layer.
