In the male reproductive system, the testes, often known as testicles, are two oval-shaped structures. They’re kept in the scrotum, which is a skin sac. The scrotum hangs outside the body around the upper thighs in the front of the pelvic region.

The creation and storage of sperm until they are mature enough for ejaculation are dependent on structures within the testes. A hormone called testosterone is also produced by the testes. Sex drive, fertility, and the growth of muscle and bone mass are all controlled by this hormone.

The testes’ primary purpose is to produce and store sperm. They’re also necessary for the production of testosterone and other androgens, which are male hormones.

Lobules are tissues that give testes their ovular shape. Lobules are coiled tubes with rich connective tissues around them.
