I was having some problems posting my comment on the video Sir so I just decided to place it below. My apologies and hoping for your kind understanding, Sir.
My comment/reflection:
The video explains what one should know about Bureaucratic Management Theory. It started by giving a short background of what the theory is all about and the person who proposed it. Then, a list of characteristics were presented followed by some examples of bureaucracies. Aside from examining the circumstances that led Weber to create the theory, the video also highlighted some of the advantages and disadvantages of bureaucratic management.
German sociologist Max Weber (1864–1920) developed a system for managing an organization effectively known as the bureaucratic management method or Weberian bureaucracy. I chose this approach because being in a profession that involves a lot of critical thinking and laboratory skills, one must be rational and pragmatic in making decisions and carrying out the necessary tasks as a Medical Technologist. The bureaucratic management method places a strong emphasis on the need for organizations to function logically as opposed to adhering to the \”arbitrary whims\” or illogical emotions and intents of managers. Moreover, the organizational top-to-bottom leadership structure and the implementation of precise procedures, processes, rules, and regulations for all organizational operations are the key components of a bureaucratic system. Weber discovered as well certain traits in bureaucracies that would successfully manage decision-making, resource control, and worker protection with the hopes of achieving the intended goals.
