Numerous substances classified as hazardous, including flammables, irritants, corrosives, sensitizers, and toxic compounds, are used in histopathology labs. The effects of mixing chemically incompatible substances can be disastrous, but we can avoid any disastrous situations. We must always wear PPE and be aware of the best and correct behavior inside the laboratory. Moreover, we should treat any samples or tissues we are handling as potentially infectious, wash our hands frequently, wear appropriate attire and close-toed shoes, and follow all laboratory standards. -
By now, as students studying medical technology, we need to be able to understand and recognize the risks present in the laboratory. Knowledge of how to deal with, use, and perform quality assurance checks and routine maintenance on all the tools and equipment within and outside the histopathology lab.
