3/14/2024What is Nervous Tissue?
Nervous tissue is composed of two types of cells, neurons and glial cells. Neurons are the primary type of cell that most anyone associates with the nervous system. They are responsible for the computation and communication that the nervous system provides. They are electrically active and release chemical signals to target cells. Glial cells, or glia, are known to play a supporting role for nervous tissue. Ongoing research pursues an expanded role that glial cells might play in signaling, but neurons are still considered the basis of this function. Neurons are important, but without glial support they would not be able to perform their function.

MT14-CC (LEC) Learning Insights:
In MT14 Health Information System, the focus was on understanding the crucial role of information technology in the healthcare sector. The subject provided valuable insights into the design, implementation, and management of health information systems. Throughout the course, I learned how these systems can improve patient care, enhance efficiency, and contribute to better health outcomes.
One key takeaway from MT14 was the significance of interoperability in health information systems. I gained an understanding of the importance of standardized data formats and protocols that enable seamless communication and data exchange between different healthcare systems and providers. This interoperability promotes efficient information sharing, leading to better coordination of care and informed decision-making.
Additionally, the subject highlighted the critical aspects of data security and privacy in health information systems. I learned about the various security measures, such as encryption and access controls, that are essential for safeguarding sensitive patient data. Understanding the ethical and legal considerations surrounding health information privacy was also emphasized.
Overall, MT14 Health Information System provided a comprehensive overview of the essential components and concepts in designing and managing health information systems. The knowledge I gained in this subject will undoubtedly elevate my ability to contribute effectively in the evolving landscape of healthcare technology.

Processes, procedures and policies are the guidelines that a company follows to make sure they are operating in a way that is both effective and safe. Every business needs them, however, sometimes it can be confusing as to where one starts and another ends. Often businesses muddle up their use or refer to the wrong one when really meaning another.
At a high-level Processes, Procedures and Policies can be defined as:
1. Policies – the guidelines that dictate how processes and procedures should be carried out.
2. Processes – the steps of tasks that need to be completed in order to complete a project.
3. Procedures – the set of instructions for completing a process.
