MT30 – BB | 03-20-24What is the Circulatory System?
The circulatory system is one of the many organ systems in our body that is imperative to our daily life function. Specifically, the circulatory system is in charge of the transport of oxygen and nutrients to different parts of the body as well as discarding wastes from our body (Better Health Channel, n.d.). There are four major parts of the circulatory system. Namely, they are the Heart, Arteries, Veins, and the Blood (Weatherspoon, 2023). The heart is in charge pumping blood that is needed by the whole body. Oxygenated blood is carried and transported through the arteries while deoxygenated blood is carried by the veins. Blood consists of Red Blood Cells (carries oxygen), White Blood Cells (comprises the immune system), Platelets (essential for clotting) and the Plasma (contains blood cells, nutrients, as well as wastes) which is being pumped by the heart. (Better Health Channel, n.d.)

When I first typed in “Histology Art” in the search bar, this remake of The Starry Night caught my eye right away. The beautiful purple night sky similarly depicted the movement of the original artwork and it almost tricked me into thinking it was the original.

Reflection to the Interview with Dr. Ben S. Malayang III on Whole Person Education
Submitted by: Lauren Nicole E. Calderon
It’s good to hear that a former President of the school I am studying in sees education as a nurturing aspect rather that a competitive battlefield—that he sees education as not only intellectual growth but also an opportunity for students to develop their personality along with the aspects of spiritual conduct. Reading that both Mr. Malayang and the United Board are actively imposing a modernized learning curriculum in today’s world of education with the intent of honing the students’ character, integrity, and faith is quite refreshing and comes off as music to a student’s ear. However, they do state that faculties and staffs adapting to this new way of learning—or essentially teaching—is something that they cannot immediately adjust to the moment it is implemented. It truly takes time, patience, and commitment to redirect themselves to a new and improved curriculum for them to be able to train their students to become the greatness they aspire to be and the person these students truly want to become. As the younger generation is the instrument of our future, it is imperative that we hone them to become the leader that they want to become in the future. May it be a leader with great and big responsibilities, and may it also be the simpler type of leader that helps people out every now and then because they truly just want to extend compassion to their neighbors. From what I have read in this article, I believe that this is the goal that Whole Person Education and the United Board is trying to achieve.
