1. Health Systems
The video discusses a breakdown of how health systems are and how they work. It starts off with the narrator stating that the main goal of health systems are “prevention and care”. As we are human, our bodies wear out in multiple different ways thus taking notice of these and acting upon a treatment plan to cure our issues is our natural way of life. The narrator mentions how, “patients are really important.” Without patients, the health system wouldn’t exist at all. If there was no one who has medical issues in the first place, we wouldn’t have gone to great measures and research just to keep our species from being endangered. He proceeds to show us how prevention and care have developed over the years with the amounts of institutes, professions, companies, and even the government that have dedicated themselves to contributing to the prevention of diseases and providing care to patients that need it. This is a great plus to our resiliency as a race and how we are able to find and develop more ways to keep our bodies in check for a better and healthier life.
2. Philippine Health System
It’s a shame that there is an evident imbalance in the distribution of health care in the Philippines. Your life depends on whether or not you can afford the services being offered by hospitals. Not a lot of hospitals carry the same capability of treating patients effectively. Public and Private hospitals here in the Philippines are segregated to cater the less fortunate and the privilege respectively. This means, public institutes may not have the best equipment and services due to lack of funding and how they budget the needs of their patients.
3. Primary Health Care
This tells us that primary health care is the bare minimum we should be treating ourselves. “Prevention is better that cure.” Having the basic type of medical care in our lives will not only give results during that time frame but will also show us long term effects and how we might have prevented something from happening years back.
