MT14 (Lec) – BB
What did you learn in MT14 [Health Information System for Med Lab Science]?The subject generally made me realize how capable I am of making my own laboratory. Well, there is still so much I have to look into especially when it comes to the accounting portion but the subject overall taught me that I can establish one and that as a medical technologist, it might even be much easier considering that we know all the resources we need to push out certain procedures for the tests we want to put up. Moreover, I really liked how we touched upon laboratory information systems since back then I thought everything would simply be done in Excel. Knowing that there are different kinds of LIT and being able to discover such due to the works (especially when we interviewed hospitals) was actually one of the best parts of this class. However, I believe that the most helpful thing that I learned in this class was about Laboratory Management. That topic literally made me change my view on how I should handle the things we have in our house. Not only that but as someone who aspires to create a business someday, knowing about the topic gave me a backbone as to what I should do with the resources I have and how to make sure that they don’t run out. Furthermore, when we wrote our different manuals, that was like the point where I said, “Mag tukod jd kog laboratory kay usik kaayo ang hardwork namo ani” HAHAHA. Lastly, MT14 made me learn that Medical Technologists deserve more and though going through this class made me realize why we would often have the lowest salaries, I still believe that we should still be prioritized just like the other medical professionals. We all deserve high salaries as our jobs will never be the easiest and our lives are always at stake.
