MT14 Health Information System for Med Lab Science helped me understand the critical role that health information systems play in clinical laboratories. Through the creation of our own virtual laboratory and interviewing a representative of an actual laboratory, I have gained a new understanding and perspective of how clinical laboratories work, and how each individual has their own responsibilities to keep the laboratory running. I have also learned essential skills that I did not expect to learn in this course, such as efficient material management, and how to maintain quality assurance and quality control which will surely be of use in the future.
