Throughout the whole lesson about Laboratory Information System (LIS), I learned s lot about how LIS works not only in the clinical laboratories, but also in big institution of hospitals. Through LIS, information can now be manage, organize, manage data, and improve quality and accuracy of laboratory workflows. Additionally, it streamlines a number of jobs are performed in a lab, such as tracking samples, ordering and interpreting tests, quality control, interacting with instruments, and reporting. It acts as a centralized location for archiving, classifying, and managing laboratory data, including patient details, test outcomes, and lab procedures. Another thing about LIS is that it makes the job easier for the staffs working, from collection to examination, tracking and monitoring the flow of the specimens and samples to ensure correct identification and verification, providing insights to support assessment, research, and decision-making through the analysis and interpretation of laboratory data, the creation of reports, and the integration into various healthcare information systems for the exchange of pertinent patient and laboratory data. In summary, a Laboratory Information System is essential for reaffirming data management, enhancing the operation of laboratories, and eventually improving patient care outcomes.
