System software are mainly designed for managing system resources. It is commonly used for operating computer hardware, this is because a computer system would not run or function without is as it is dependent on it. Examples of it are operating systems, device drivers, utility software, etc. Application software is a type of software that runs as per user request, and is known as specific-purpose software. Mainly used by users to perform specific tasks. And it cannot run without the system software. Examples of application software are Microsoft software, web browsers, and specific purpose apps.
