Insights on the Article: “Whole Person Education: The Goals and the Challenges”

In my perspective, Whole Person Education signifies a profound approach to learning that transcends mere knowledge acquisition. It revolves around the cultivation of competence, character, and faith in God, fostering students’ growth into well-rounded individuals. As a college student, I find this as a very wonderful avenue to see more diversity in the values that seem to be overlooked, especially with how scientific things are viewed in this day and age, particularly with my course, Medical Technology. It is safe to say that the subject Whole Person Education empowers learners not only to excel academically but also to become morally upright individuals who serve others altruistically and deepen their spiritual connections.

On the other hand, considering the role of the United Board in advancing whole person education across Asia, I can say that a promising opportunity emerges. With its extensive network of educational institutions in the region, the United Board can spearhead the establishment of standards and accreditation systems that prioritize character development and spiritual growth alongside academic excellence. This collaborative initiative can serve as a solid foundation for advocating whole person education throughout Asia. Hence, as we start this new school year, I am excited to learn and be a continuous student of life through GE 10. To be a recipient of an education that encompasses more than textbooks is a transformative journey that I would want to be a part of.
