    My Insights, Realizations, and Reflections
Upon reading and reflecting on Dr. Ben S. Malayang’s (III) take and viewpoint on Whole Person Education, I realized that holistically developing students’ minds through Whole Person Education will allow them to develop a sense of awareness. A type of awareness wherein they are able to view the world in different perspectives and adjust to what the world requires from them as WPE influences and shapes their attitudes, behaviors, and moreover, their perspectives. Furthermore, what stuck with me the most in Dr. Malayang’s statement on WPE is the fact that it is a type of education that emphasizes the importance of faith as it equips students to be stewards of God who are willing to help and serve the community wholeheartedly with the competence that they have attained from WPE and the character that they have constructed and enhanced through WPE. That said, I think that viewing Whole Person Education in line with Dr. Malayang’s definition will allow students like me to grasp its relevance and importance in our lives not just as students but as children, friends, countrymen, and the like.

Shifting to the role of the United Board in the integration of WPE into the curriculum of educational institutions, Dr. Malayang highlighted that the United Board’s commitment to showing Christian faith in their affiliated schools is indeed evident. Hence, he believes that the organization can help institutions develop and shape the students holistically. That said, through the support and assistance of the United Board, students are shaped in a manner where they are able to maximize their abilities in different aspects of life making them relevant individuals who can bring transformative impacts unto the spaces that they interact in as they possess the ability to lead and cater to the needs of their constituents. Furthermore, in the interview, Dr. Malayang also highlighted the importance of ensuring that the educators of WPE have grasped and attained sufficient knowledge on the topic so that they may effectively help students develop holistically in a profound manner. With all that taken into account, I am able to see the importance of the cause that the United Board is aiming to impart to its affiliated schools which is to produce students that are equipped with competence in their chosen field of expertise, together with a character that embodies trustworthiness, and faith that enables them to withstand the challenges they face in their endeavors.
