“What is whole person education and multiple intelligence?” — Reflection
It was interesting to see how the article defined the six areas of intelligence development as IQ (Intelligence Quotient), EQ (Emotional Intelligence), SQ (Social Intelligence), AQ (Adversity Intelligence), CQ (Cultural Intelligence) and FQ (Financial Intelligence). I was only aware of IQ and EQ, so reading about these different types of multiple intelligence based on the article opened my mind to reconsider what we traditionally consider as intelligence development which is mostly focused on IQ and EQ nowadays. We cannot consider anyone to be stupid based on one definition of intelligence alone.
Going back to whole person education, I learned that it is the development of all these aspects that lead to a resilient and well-rounded individual. It’s important to have support in all components and to establish a strong social network for students to achieve success. After all, education is not only about gaining knowledge but the application of it in all aspects of life. Achieving whole person education sets up a student not only for success in school but towards a successful life overall.
