In the Book of Romans, specifically Chapter 4, Paul explained that people were always justified by faith, especially in the Old Testament. Paul began by stating that if Abraham was justified by works, he had something to boast about before men. But that is not how God set up this plan. Paul said βAbraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.β He said the person who works and does what the Law requires does so not as a favor to God, but because that is what he or she is expected to do. The person who follows the law isnβt doing something βspecialβ, but is doing what is required.
But the one who understands they cannot obey and follow the law completely, but instead asks God for mercy and believes in Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is credited to him as righteousness. The most important verses in this chapter are Romans 4:11 and 12 which state, βAnd he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had yet being uncircumcised: that he might be the father of all them that believe, though they are not circumcised; that righteousness might be imputed unto them also: And the father of circumcision to them who are not of the circumcision only, but who also walk in the steps of that faith of our father Abraham, which he had being yet uncircumcised.β
God wants us to understand after reading this chapter that Abraham was declared righteous by God because of his faith in Godβs promises, and this happened before he was circumcised. All people must have their hearts circumcised by the Holy Spirit. Circumcision of the flesh is a sign and seal of what happened inside that personβs heart. βThis is my covenant which you shall keep between me and you and thy seed after you β every male child among you shall be circumcised. ‘ The biblical explanation for this commandment states quite clearly that circumcision acts as an outward physical sign of the eternal covenant between God and the Jewish people. God wants people to know that no one can earn salvation by following the law, because following the Law is already a demand placed on them. It is not a βfavorβ to God.We are justified by faith in Jesus Christ, not by our own obedience to the law. that we are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. We cannot earn our salvation by our own good works. Instead, we must trust in Jesus and his finished work on the cross. When we do this, we are justified by faith and receive the gift of eternal life.

βTherefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through Him, we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God.β
Paul explained how justification came into the world, some characteristics of justification, and what the results of justification are. Paul taught that people are justified by faith and that believers now have peace with God through Jesus Christ. He said because of this, we are glad when we think of our trials and tribulations because they bring about perseverance in our lives. Perseverance brings proven character, and proven character brings hope to our lives. And God has made a promise, a covenant that people will not be disappointed in the hope they have in Him. God also showered and poured upon on his love for us by giving us the Holy Spirit. Salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ brings us peace with God, access to his grace, hope for eternal glory, and salvation from his wrath.
Overall, this chapter does not only teach us that our salvation is secure in Jesus Christ, but telling that we have been justified by faith, and we have peace with God. We can now live our lives with gratitude for what he has done for us and share the good news of salvation with others.

I used to walk in the way that leads to destruction and I was blinded by the many currents in life, now I see there are two paths and thereβs this one, with a narrow gate that leads to righteousness, the way that is provided by God. The lesson of Romans Chapter 6 is that we have the power to live a life free from sin, this is up to us if we would want to embark on living a life of purity or not. We have been crucified with Christ and we have been raised to walk in newness of life. We are no longer slaves to sin, but we are now slaves to righteousness. United with Jesus in the likeness of his death we will certainly also be united in the likeness of his resurrection. This brings a message to surrender the Holy Spirit, we need to surrender to His control and allow Him to work in our life.
