October 10, 2023 (Attendance)Roble Hall is a historic building located on the campus of Silliman University in Dumaguete City, Philippines. It holds a significant place in the university’s history and has played a vital role in the development of education in the region. Silliman University was founded in 1901 by American Presbyterian missionaries, making it the first American university in the Philippines. The university aimed to provide quality education and promote Christian values in the region. Roble Hall was constructed in 1915, just a few years after the university’s establishment. The building was named after the Roble family, who were prominent supporters of the university’s mission. Roble Hall is a fine example of American colonial architecture in the Philippines during the early 20th century. It features a distinctive design with wooden panels, wide windows, and a spacious interior. Over the years, Roble Hall has served various educational purposes. It initially housed classrooms, administrative offices, and faculty accommodations. It also played a crucial role in accommodating students during World War II.
