SILLIMAN BUILDINGS!5. Silliman University Church: Construction of Silliman University Church started in 1941, intending to finish in 1942, but World War II halted the process. It was eventually completed in 1949. The cornerstone, inscribed with “The foundation of God standeth sure,” was laid on Founder’s Day in 1941, and the first service took place on New Year’s Eve of the same year. The church boasts stained glass windows donated by the Ilagan couple, illustrating scenes like “Jesus the Teacher,” “The Prodigal Son,” and “The Parable of the Good Samaritan.”
6. Amphitheater: The amphitheater, a gift from the 1923 high school graduating class, was historically used for Shakespearean plays and the inaugural Miss Silliman Pageant.
7. Hibbard Hall: Constructed in 1932 and finished around 1942 due to financial constraints, Hibbard Hall has served various purposes, including hosting the College of Business Administration, library, and administrative offices. Presently, its second floor houses the Ethno-Anthro Museum, displaying artifacts from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
8. Katipunan Hall: Built in 1916, Katipunan Hall originally operated as a Mission Hospital under the administration of the Langheim missionary couple.
