Differences between Mission and Vision Statements

Mission statements involve the means of achieving the goal, while the vision statement is the overall goal that the institution wants to achieve in the future. The mission is usually focused on the “how” and the vision is the description of the “why”. The vision talks about the reason why the institution does what it does. The mission is the ways or processes that the institution needs to do to progress towards their vision.
