Coronary Artery Disease. A common heart disease in the United States of America. It is a type of disease which constricts our arteries due to the build of cholesterol. It is also a type of disease that could affect anyone. But people that are most at risk to this disease are older people and those that have an unhealthy lifestyle. The video attached below tackles about the coronary artery disease. It will explain more on what is CAD, who are at risk to such disease, the symptoms, and the diagnosis and treatment.

    • What is a coronary heart disease?
      – Also referred to as CAD, coronary artery disease is the most common heart disease in the USA. It occurs to patients when their coronary arteries fail to supply the heart with enough blood and oxygen. Due to the build up of the cholesterol, the arteries will narrow down which will cause the arteries to decrease their blood flow.

Who are the possible people that can get it?
      – There are really no specific type of people that can get this ailment because anyone can be at risk to develop this type of disease. Although there are factors that could affect this, which was discussed last meeting, that could make people vulnerable and prone to such disease. The factors include: getting older, lifestyle, existing diseases (such as diabetes and high blood pressure), and family history.

      What are its symptoms?
      – A coronary artery disease is not like any other diseases that symptoms are shown right away. But the most common symptom of CAD is angina. It happens when the heart does not get enough oxygen-rich blood it needs and causes pressure and tightness of the chest. Another thing is when people develop shortness of breath and extreme fatigue during activities. There are also instances when an artery gets fully blocked which could lead to heart attack.
