The most common cardiovascular disease, coronary artery disease (CAD), is caused by atherosclerosis, or the buildup of cholesterol and other materials on the inside walls of the coronary arteries. Plaques can constrict or obstruct these arteries, which are in charge of supplying the heart muscle with oxygen and nutrients, which lowers blood flow. Age, gender, family history, smoking, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, and a sedentary lifestyle are risk factors for coronary artery disease (CAD). Angina (chest pain), exhaustion, sweating, nausea, and shortness of breath are common symptoms. Heart problems, arrhythmias, and heart attacks are only a few examples of complications. While lifestyle modifications, medication, angioplasty, stent implantation, and, in extreme circumstances, coronary artery bypass grafting are all part of the treatment plan, diagnosis methods include procedures like electrocardiograms and coronary angiography. For those with Coronary Artery Disease, minimizing risks and maximizing heart health depend on early detection in conjunction with comprehensive therapy.
