The kidney is like a filtering organ inside your body. It cleans your blood and makes pee. You’ve got two kidneys, each about the size of your fist, sitting on either side of your spine, below your rib cage. Inside your kidneys, there are lots of tiny units called nephrons. Think of them as tiny filters. Each nephron has a filter part (called a glomerulus) and a tubule. When blood goes through the filter, waste and extra stuff get removed, and the rest becomes pee. So, your kidneys are constantly filtering your blood and making pee to keep your body balanced. And it’s all made possible by these tiny cells in your kidneys.
