Name of Specimen: Human spleen section
Lens Used: Low Power Objective (LPO)
Description: The spleen is the largest lymphoid organ and filter of blood in the human body which maintains immune response. The spleen is enveloped by a thick connective tissue capsule. Within it, the splenic tissue consists of two distinct types which are the red pulp and the white pulp, which blend together without distinct boundaries and are distributed throughout the spleen. The white pulp comprises lymphoid tissue typically found surrounding the blood vessels within the spleen. Meanwhile, the red pulp consists of a network of splenic cords, also known as cords of Billroth, and sinusoids, wide vessels containing blood. It is primarily within the red pulp where the majority of filtration processes take place.

The combination of red and white color will give you a pink color. I really love pink, that is why I am very in love with the image of the human spleen section. I found the activity of viewing specimens with the microscope enjoyable because what I can see underneath are all breathtaking.
