What are your thoughts about histology?
Histology is the study of the microscopic structure of cells, tissues, and organs. It lets us understand how structure and function is dependent on each other. As we all know, the function of a biological entity is indeed dependent on its structure. On the other hand, the function of a biological entity also influences its structure, modifying its structural features to improve their ability to perform certain functions more efficiently, most especially in processes like adaptation. Who would expect that simple looking tissues are complex when we observe them with microscopes. That is why I am looking forward to how this course would bring me to the microscopic world of histology and let me appreciate the beauty of the cells’, tissues’, and organs’ structures as well as its amazing functions.
