Name of Specimen: Toad Skin, v.s.

Lens Used: Low Power Objective (LPO)

Description: Observing toad skin through the Low Power Objective lens was like discovering a tiny world full of interesting details. The cells were neatly arranged, forming a strong structure. I noticed small bumps on the skin, which made me wonder if they play a part in protecting the toad.

The skin looked a bit rough, like it had tiny textures, perhaps for better grip or interaction with the environment. As I thought more about it, the slimy substance from the mucous glands seemed like a smart way for the toad to stay moist and safe from germs. The shiny appearance of the skin might be due to a layer that helps keep water away.

Looking closer, I noticed a network of blood vessels under the skin. It made me think these vessels probably help the toad stay warm and get the nutrients it needs. Putting it all together, it seems like toad skin is like a well-thought-out design, helping the toad stay safe, adapt to its surroundings, and stay healthy in its own little world.
