MT 30-CCWhy is Histology important?
Histology hones our knowledge and skills in determining normal tissues, reinforcing our basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology. By learning histology, we would know how tissues and cells behave and their unique characteristics. It is also a tool in pathologic processes because we can’t perceive inflammation and neoplasm without studying histology. It is the greatest weapon of a pathologist and a blueprint for scientific discovery (medical, environmental, behavioral, etc.).
