Histology of Circulatory System

The circulatory system, also known as the cardiovascular system, is made up of the heart and blood vessels. It works to transport oxygen and other nutrients to all the organs and tissues in the body. It also works to remove carbon dioxide and other waste products. The circulatory system is vital to an individual’s survival. Its function is to distribute blood and other nutrients to all the body’s organs and tissues.

The heart pumps blood to the body through a network of arteries and veins (blood vessels). Cardio means heart, and vascular refers to blood vessels.
