Inside our bodies, we have a special system that moves blood around. It’s like a team of tubes, the heart, and the lungs working together. The heart’s right side sends dirty blood to the lungs, where it gets cleaned up with oxygen. Then, the left side of the heart pushes this clean blood through tubes called arteries to give our body what it needs and collect what it doesn’t. After that, tubes called veins carry the used blood back to the heart, which then sends it back to the lungs to get rid of bad stuff like carbon dioxide when we breathe out. This whole system includes the heart, tubes, and the blood itself, which has red and white cells, liquid called plasma, and tiny pieces called platelets.
