    REVIEW ON NERVOUS TISSUE

    SLIDE LABEL: Mammal Cerebrum H&E

    ──────────────────

The cerebrum, the largest part of our brain, processes high cognitive function, sensory stimuli, and voluntary movement. Its bumpy outer layer with the cerebral cortex is made of grey matter and is characterized by ridges and furrows (gyri and sulci). Below it is white matter with nerve fibers sending messages along the cortex together with subcortical structures that hold cell bodies. Different functions are in different areas in the cerebrum, like how the frontal lobe specifically regulates our personalities and decision-making.
