Activity #5: The Digestive System
____________________________________________________________
🛈 WHAT IS THE DIGESTIVE SYSTEM?
The human digestive system serves as a complex processing plant, transforming ingested food and liquids into absorbable components utilized by the body. This intricate system comprises the digestive tract, a series of organs facilitating the breakdown and absorption of nutrients. Additionally, the system encompasses structures for waste elimination and accessory organs that secrete digestive juices. Through this process, digestion converts complex molecules into forms readily accessible for cellular function and energy production.
Here below, I have illustrated and labeled 10 digestive tissues, namely: the cecum, frog small intestine, frog stomach, tooth of an adult cat, esophagus (upper region), human appendix, human gall bladder, human liver, parotid gland, and epiglottis.
