The circulatory system pumps blood throughout the body. This is crucial because it transports the necessary nutrients and gases to the vital organs and other body parts. Some of the parts of the circulatory system are:
    1. Spleen – The spleen is located inside the left ribcage above the stomach. It filters blood by removing cellular waste and old or damaged blood cells (Cleveland Clinic, 2021).
    2. Vena Cava – This consists of the inferior and superior vena cava, which are both found in the heart. Both carry blood back to the heart, with the superior vena cava carrying blood from the head, neck, chest, and arms, and the inferior vena cava carrying blood from the legs, feet, and abdominal and pelvic organs (National Cancer Institute, n.d.).
    3. Vein – Veins are located all over the body. They carry blood from the different parts of the body back to the heart.
    4. Artery – Arteries are also located all over the body. They transport blood from the heart to the different body parts and organs.
