    Activity 1: The Cell

The cell is the smallest basic unit of life. It is the building block of all living things. The human body consists of trillions of cells. They provide the body’s structure, metabolism, energy supply, and other specialized functions. Cells also store the body’s genetic material and replicate themselves through cell division.
The drawing below is my take on representing the cell, wherein it is a spaceship. The nucleus is the command center, and the mitochondria provide the energy and fuel the spacecraft needs to fly. All the other parts also play a role in ensuring that the ship can function much like how the organelles are vital in a cell’s processes.
