My histology is all about the beauty of cells. Highlighted in this artwork are white blood cells and red blood cells. In the picture, WBCs and RBCs surround the human being and a butterfly. Covering the human is a symbol of the functions of these cells, to protect, nurture and connect the whole bodily system. The butterfly signifies beauty within these cells.

Red blood cells are the epitome of efficiency and specialization in supporting life because of their streamlined form and amazing ability to carry oxygen throughout the body while retaining flexibility. As frontline defenders against infections, white blood cells, on the other hand, are diverse in form and function and represent the beauty of versatility and adaptability. They provide a captivating show of cellular ballet in the body’s continual war against sickness. When taken as a whole, these cellular wonders demonstrate the exquisite relationship between form and function, the beauty of specialization, and the unwavering search for harmony and balance that is necessary for life to flourish.
