    Activity 2A: EPITHELIAL TISSUE 🔬

❕ Epithelial tissue is a type of membrane tissue composed of cells that form a variety of surfaces and tissues throughout the body. It’s a vital part of the body that covers all surfaces inside and out.

❕ Simple cuboidal epithelium is a type of epithelial tissue consisting of a single layer of cube shaped cells. It regulates the secretion and absorption of substances between the underlying connective tissue and the lumen (inner surface) of the organ.

❕ Simple columnar epithelium consists of a single layer of tall, slender cells. It is found in many parts of the body where secretion and absorption are important functions.

❕ Pseudostratified ciliated columnar epithelium is a type of epithelium that appears to have multiple layers, but is actually only comprised of a single sheet of tall, column-shaped cells. They play an important role in filtering incoming air.

❕Stratified squamous epithelium covers the surface of the body and lines its organs. It is made up of multiple layers of flattened cells. It provides protection for the underlying tissues.
